In September 2022, the Ecoaction team initiated a sociological survey to learn more about Ukrainians’ attitude towards the development of renewable energy sources in the electricity sector, and partly heat supply, taking into account the realities of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The survey “Renewables are already here: what do Ukrainians think about a green future for their households?” was conducted by the research agency LLC “INFO SAPIENCE INTERNATIONAL” at the initiative of the NGO Ecoaction with the financial support of the European Union as part of the project “Closing the loop: a just energy transition designed by capitals and regions”.
The survey was conducted in September 2022. It took place in the format of telephone interviews with residents of 9 regions of Ukraine: Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy and Kyiv (except the city of Kyiv). As part of the survey, a random representative sample of 936 people was interviewed.
The European Union-funded project “Closing the loop: a just energy transition designed by capitals and regions” aims to integrate a just (socially responsible) energy transition into decisions at national and municipal levels.
